Your Favorite Things To Do

You are almost two years old now - in fact, we are throwing a New Year's party this Sunday afternoon and also plan to celebrate your second birthday.

Here are some things you like to do these days (as well as a few things you dislike):

• Sing the entire ABC song
• Make the sounds of all of the letters
• Say 'Oh no!' while putting your hands on your cheeks
• Say 'Zing' when you eat something tangy like a lemon or orange
• Say ‘Thank you’ and ‘You’re Welcome’ – we’re still working on saying 'Please'
• Say ‘Miss You’ and ‘Love You’ when you talk on the phone (Girlie taught you this)
• Cover your mouth when you cough
• Play with puzzles and flash cards
• Pretend to feed oats and hay to your rocking horse named Brownie; Also wear cowgirl boots around the house; Say ‘Giddey-up’ and ‘Yee-haw!’ while riding the horse
• Ride the carousel in Central Park
• Climb up and down staircases
• Jump on the bed, jump on the floor, jump anywhere
• Practice going over and under Daddy's legs
• Climbing all over Daddy while he's laying on his back and jumping off his chest
• Try on Mommy's shoes and shuffle around the house
• Mimic us cleaning the floors by pushing the Swifter around
• Mimic us having a conversation by saying lots of gibberish whenever we're talking
• Flip through photo albums and point out faces you recognize
• Play with water - in the tub, in the sink, anywhere
• Say lots of "No No No!' whenever we ask questions
• Say 'Hear That?' and put your finger to your ear
• Tell us what you dreamed about - typically you say 'Daddy, ducky, hippos, giraffe'
• Try to put your own clothes and shoes on – you still need some help but you want to try by yourself
• Prefer to sit on a stool when eating at the kitchen counter instead of your red high-chair
• Dread having your diaper changed most of the time – we’re planning to potty-train you next month since you seem more interested in the potty
• Fuss whenever we try to change you out of pajamas
• Sometimes protest cry when it's bedtime - sometimes you scream 'Mommy! Daddy! Girlie!'
• Favorite songs to sing: ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Taxi Taxi, Wheels on the Bus
• Favorite CD to dance: Wiggles CD
• Favorite DVDs: Leapfrog Letter Factory, Elmo's Wild Wild West, Dora the Explorer
